What we've done this week.....
This week we have been reading the decodable book, "Quint and Kit", practicing the qu sound. Plase have your child read this book to you. The new sight words this week are look and their. Please remember to help your child practice the sight word list that was sent home. We have studied butterflies this week and their 4 stages of development as we raise butterflies in class. We are also working on writing compelte sentences, and the kids are doing great! Today we also studied the difference between facts and opinion! They are doing so well, and they have grown so much! Nice job little owls!

Harris Beach Tide Pool Field Trip
On Tuesday, May 28th we will be going on a field trip to Harris Beach to study the tide pools. As safety is always a concern, we need at least 11 family helpers to be able to go, we need 1 chaperone for every 2 students. A permission slip is attached to your weekly newsletter, please fill it out, commenting if you can attend or not, and send it back asap.
Unfortunately, we cannot have siblings on this trip, and it is likely the busses will be full so you may have to meet us there. Thank you for understanding, and any help you can provide!

Piggy Opera
I hope you are all ready for the performance of a lifetime, because that's what the Piggy Opera will be! We can't wait to perform for you! Please see the attached invitation to our performance on Friday, May 10th at 12:00 in the Kalmiopsis Gym. We will start promptly at 12:00, so please come a few minutes early to get a good seat! Bring your cameras, it's gonna be great!
